Invitation to The Murai Symposium:
The development of catalytic reactions involving C−H activation is now one of the most attractive research fields in organic synthesis and has made a significant contribution to the green utilization of carbon resources by providing an opportunity to reconsider the future direction of chemical feedstock in chemical industries.
Among the several groundbreaking discoveries that have underpin the current prosperity of this reserch field, Professor Shinji Murai's seminal work of two decades ago has undoubtedly served as a trigger for its rapid growth. Therefore, this symposium entitled "Progress in Catalytic C−H activation over the Past Twenty Years (The Murai Symposium)" has been planned based on the desire of the members of the organometallic society in Japan to celebrate his outstanding contributions over the past twenty years and to discuss the future direction of this research field.
The Murai Symposium consists of keynote and plenary lectures delivered by nine distinguished researchers and will be held immediately after "The 2nd International Conference on Organometallics and Catalysis (OM&Cat-2014)" at the same venue. We aim to offer a unique platform for a fruitful discussion and hope you will consider joining this symposium.
